Porta San Paolo, Rome, Italy
Powderly, Terence Vincent, 1849-1924 (Creator)
Photograph is a postcard that on the reverse side reads 'Porta San Paolo. The old gate is near the part of the Pyramid of Cestius (?), to your left. This gate, or porta was originally known as a Porta Osticrisis that St. Paul passed through on his way to execution. The name was changed and ever since, or about 1900 years, it has been called Porta San Paolo'.
