Letter from Patrick Walsh to Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa, January 28, 1877.
Walsh, Patrick (Creator)
Correspondence from Patrick Walsh to Jeremiah O'Donovan Rossa regarding the status of the O'Donovan Rossa Circle in Brazil, Indiana. Mr. Walsh discusses how the Circle is failing. Most members have not paid their dues, few attend meetings, and there is no secrecy in what is discussed. A member Laurence Madden is determined to keep the Circle going. Walsh further talks about the anxiety within the organization for some sort of military action to be taken against Great Britain. He states his desire to fight, his knowledge of building torpedoes and his participation in the Canadian Raid. On the backside of the letter is a list of members, as well as detailed information on the Circle's fianancial status.
